John E. Rogers African American Cultural Center
The John E. Rogers African American Cultural Center, Inc. established in 1991 for the specific purpose of engendering pride and empowering the black community of Connecticut with knowledge of its own unique history and culture. The John E. Rogers African American Cultural Center will serve as a historical and educational institution for research. It will provide significant information on the lives and culture of Americans of African descent to a national, regional, state and local audience. The center will exhibit, disseminate and publicize valuable literary, artistic, historical, and scientific contributions of notable and ordinary African Americans whose extraordinary efforts have improved the quality of American life.
